Diane creates quilts using many of our feedsacks ... so being just 'down the street' from my brother's home in San Antonio ... putting a face with the voice was a must ... she has been our
client for years.
Congratulations ~

Diane is showing me this darling giddyup cowboy quilt she made from one of our fabrics ...
These novelty feedsacks are not a dime a dozen
anymore ...
and THEN she brought out this beauty ... I said, 'you are making this one for me, right?' Chuckle!
It is gorgeous.
Sherry, can't you just picture me snuggled in
this one ...
Diane had gone to the Houston quilt show & was telling me about the beautiful designs & fabrics she viewed, tho she didn't have any entered .
I shared with Diane that all of you quilting ladies absolutely amaze me that you come up with such
lovely designs with these feedsack fabrics.
Diane hasn't decided what she is backing them with tho they will be exquisite, I know.
I took Diane a little gift in appreciation of her constant
support of our business ...
We have over 3,000 vintage feedsacks & let her know as
soon as new ones arrive.
Our friendship has evolved over the years. I only wish you all could have seen her magnificent home.
I'll be back, Diane ...
Thank you for a marvelous visit, you are a jewel.
Then we went out to dinner with my brother's family, for the last couple of hours of our visit in our 3rd favorite city ...
IF you go to San Antonio it is a MUST to go to ... Cafe Milano Restaurant off Bandera. It is one fabulous Italian restaurant with a fantastic staff & the food is delicioso!
Marydon (l), Quaella, Harold, Buck & Trevva
Then my brother had this surprise for me ... tall, dark, handsome Ryan comes over to our table, does the waiter shuffle, then opens his mouth ... & out came this fabulous operatic voice singing Happy Birthday to me in Italian ... swoon! I was taken away & in love, just briefly ...
Not being able to retain this gorgeous chaps name (you know how youth takes its toll on our minds, chuckle!) from TX to MD I called up to find out so to give him due credit with his proper name ... & melt my heart, he ANSWERED THE PHONE. Take me away Ryan ... take me away ...
Then we went back to my brother's, gathered our belongings & headed for the airport ... sniff, sniff!
I left my family & heart in San Antonio ... once again.
Love you all, will miss you terrible! I'll be back ...
