Mt. Rainier puts on a show!
By Scott Sistek
Our little dry streak is about to come to an end.
But if you looked at Mt. Rainier today,
you would have known that already.
Take a look at some of these incredible clouds
captured over Mt. Rainier today.
Those are called "lenticular clouds" They're caused when the
winds are just right so when they flow over Mt. Rainier ,
the air gets pushed upward where it cools and
condenses into clouds.. Depending on the winds,
you can get some amazing clouds formations as we've
seen so far today. Here is more information on what causes
them from an earlier blog entry.
It's usually a sign of rain within 24 hours because typically
the moist flow that precedes a storm around here
is the perfect set up for these clouds.
Until you've been to the west coast & western side of this beautiful nation to view these majestic
mountains that just aren't here on the east coast,
you cannot imagine the beauty of them arising
into the horizon to greet you every single day.
This is Gig Harbor, a very lovely city on a hill with the beautiful waters below dressed in boats to enjoy. Very picturesque ...
Is this not AWESOME!
Such powerful pictures ...
In all her beauty ... God is the director!
