NEVER try a new recipe (for any special event you are having) without doing a trial RUN first. (Did you notice all the pink cooking utensils ... of course you did!)I prepare tons of food to take to the Antietam Illumination (tomorrow) ... I couldn't find my NORMAL recipe for oatmeal cookies so I got out the old Betty Crocker cookbook ... well, these mixed well, looked good on the baking sheet ... BUT they came out like a lace cookie rather than a soft chewy cookie ... SOOO this double batch of cookies, nearly 100, went to work with DH.
This is what DH found as he went to the kitchen to retrieve the trays ... all washed & ready to go.
