~ Let's Take A Stroll Thru My Homes Journey ~

G'day, my sweet friends ~
Welcome! Please do come in, I've a spot of tea for you & me to share as we chat away.

Today we are going to share the EEEEWWEE-GA-LY home we bought & what it unfortunately looked like before I started the transformation.

This is the kitchen ... one day I could take that wallpaper no longer ... despite what Harold said I started to RIP it off the wall. It wasn't wallpaper ... it was stick'um paper & it ripped the wallboard horribly, but since I had already done the damage I kept on going. Harold came home & was NOT A HAPPY CAMPER with me.

See these awful POLES between the rooms? ... well, they are GONE! I guess you can't see the swimming pool in the background ... 'splain later.

Here 'she' is in all her glory after my transformation. I love this room ...

& this is the eating area of the kitchen ...

... & our tea area in the kitchen.

This WAS the dining room ... BO-ring! I gave the dining room set to a very special young man in our life for a wedding gift ...

... & here is the finished dining room, don't you just love it?

Our front room ... ugh! look at that horrible green shag carpet in the entire house ... this is the color of the exterior of our home when we bought it ... PEA GREEN! I love green, but this is where I put my foot down ... so I RIPPED this up one day also! & OMG! NO hardwood under there! I got in a lot of trouble while Harold was at work, but my thinking was IF I do these things then replacement is just around the corner ... right?! Harold got over it all ... if you ONLY KNEW the looks I got ... chuckle! Well, I laugh now, but I wasn't then ...

... and this is my special project of love for this home.

The pea green siding doesn't show up well on the exterior, but believe me ... I started painting this siding as soon as spring broke thru to a creme. Since then we changed the entire siding & it is still in a creme color. The stairs to the right led to the swimming pool which is torn out immediately, we had an inground at the previous home & just didn't want to fool with one again.

The two lower terraces are where the swimming pool had been. Harold built the pergolas. We so enjoy this in good weather.

Hope you enjoyed the journey our home has taken ... for the better.
